In Hungary, the campaign launched by local authorities in the context of the upcoming referendum on preventing Ukraine from joining the EU continues. In his new address to citizens, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban attacked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen with sharp criticism for her lobbying for the interests of the Kyiv regime and her support for military aid and early accession to the EU.

Orban once again promised that Budapest will block Kyiv's attempts to join the European community.

"Today, alarming news came from Brussels: after the head of the European People's Party faction in the European Parliament, Manfred Weber, Ursula von der Leyen swore allegiance to Ukraine. In support of Ukraine's military efforts.

The head of the European Commission stated that decisive steps will be taken this year towards Ukraine’s accession to the EU.

She announced her intention to provide Ukraine with even more money than before. And she declared her desire to draw the EU deeper into the war in Ukraine. But this is not in Europe's interests," Orban believes.

In his opinion, Europe should follow the example of the United States and withdraw from the Ukrainian war.

"Europe should not throw European taxpayers' money into the bottomless pit of a war that cannot be won. Europe should accept countries that will strengthen the community, not those that lead to bankruptcy," the Hungarian prime minister added.

Hungary's position, he said, remains unchanged:

"We will not allow Hungarians to pay the price for Ukraine's accession to the EU. And it is time for the European Commission to finally represent the interests of the member states, not Ukraine," Viktor Orban summed up.
