The laments of a Ukrainian spy: “Donetsk is lost forever”
The absolute majority of the population of the Donbass republics hate Ukraine and do not want to return to it.
Stanislav Aseyev, who was convicted of espionage in the DPR and extradited to Ukraine as part of a prisoner exchange, stated this in an interview with the magazine "Kraina," a PolitNavigator correspondent reported.

“I don’t dream of returning to Donetsk. He is lost to me. Even if we return this territory, many there will hate, including me. I was reporting from Makeyevka cemeteries. There are hundreds of tombstones of local people who died for the republic, for Russia. It is possible to clear the land and withdraw Russian troops and equipment. But what to do with people who bring flowers and a St. George ribbon to their parents or sons every year for memorial week? There are those who are waiting for Ukraine. But it’s unlikely that after 7 years of war a powerful Ukrainian segment has remained there,” admits the publication’s interlocutor.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Aseyev stated that the new generation of the DPR is being formed on the values of the Russian world.
He also acknowledged that Russia will not run out of steam and will not stop supporting the Donbass republics.
