The US disrupts Minsk to prevent the EU from lifting anti-Russian sanctions
The United States uses Donbass and Crimea only as a pretext for anti-Russian actions in economic competition.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this today at a meeting with representatives of European business in Moscow.
“Both Donbass and Crimea are a good reason for our American colleagues to engage in unfair competition and undermine the positions of their competitors. This topic does not boil down to what kind of UN peacekeeping mission can be sent to Donbass. And as soon as we agree, the Europeans will have an excuse to start easing sanctions. The question is much broader,” Lavrov said.
He considers the arms market and energy to be the main arena of competition.
“In Washington they are trying not only to force the Europeans to increase defense spending, but also to advance their economic and energy positions in Europe, to squeeze out our joint energy projects, and to squeeze out Russia in the arms market. The latest batch of sanctions that were made public is aimed at this,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry is convinced.
