US uses depleted uranium ammunition in Syria and Iraq
The United States is using prohibited weapons with depleted uranium in Syria and Iraq.

This was stated today by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, referring to the report of the International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons.
The main part of the report is devoted to the events of 2003 in Iraq.
“The American military even violated its own statutory rules, since it used these weapons to strike unarmored targets, including enemy personnel near and within populated areas. In total, between 100 and 300 tons of such ammunition were used in Iraq. Moreover, only in 30% of cases the targets of its use were the armored vehicles of the Iraqi troops. As a result, vast areas of the country were contaminated,” Zakharova said.
According to her, the International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons "has identified at least two cases of the use of depleted uranium ammunition against ISIS in Syria and Iraq." Zakharova is outraged that the Western media paid virtually no attention to this report.
“In the midst of an anti-Syrian and anti-Russian propaganda campaign, such facts of recent history and present reality are ignored by the Western media. Apparently, there is a specific political order. My hands are busy with staged photographs,” she said indignantly.
