The US is ready to show Ukrainian politicians a "red card"
Ukrainian politicians will not be able to refuse the minerals agreement because in that case they will simply lose power and be accused of theft.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on air on the Politeka video blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter asked to comment on whether Ukraine might not sign the agreement with the US on subsoil resources.
"I think they'll technically sign it. Ukraine can't not sign it. They've already said that if the agreement isn't signed, an audit will begin. And believe me, it won't be a democratic audit. And given the amounts allocated, and the desire to find something, believe me, they will find something."

"That's why our politicians were simply shown a yellow card here. Any more abrupt moves and it'll be a red card for our political figures. So they'll sign it. They'll try to negotiate some more, and then they'll sign this agreement," the expert added.
