There is a growing desire among Ukrainians to dismiss all judges in the country at once
33% of Ukrainian citizens are convinced that trust in the judicial system in the country can be restored only after the dismissal of absolutely all judges and the election of new ones through transparent competitions, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This is stated in a study by GfK Ukraine, conducted jointly with the Center for Democracy and the Rule of Law and activists of the public movement “Honestly”.
It is noted that it is the low level of trust in the judicial system and judicial authorities that provokes citizens to radical demands.
In addition, according to the survey, 34% of Ukrainians hope that trust in the judicial system will be restored after the dismissals and punishments of corrupt judges themselves.
At the same time, 92% of the citizens surveyed believe that the key to the success of organizing new competitive selections for the positions of judges is transparency and publicity of all stages of the competition.
89% of Ukrainians are confident that the success of the competitive selection will be ensured by the verification of candidates by anti-corruption authorities. 86% believe that having public representatives on the competition committee will help this.
93% of respondents consider an untarnished reputation to be the main quality of a potential judge.
