Deputy from A Just Russia Oleg Nilov stated this today at a meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

“We need to invite representatives of the economic and financial bloc and the Central Bank here. We would ask them not only why everything is tied to the dollar, but also why our huge reserve funds, $92 billion, are in American banks. This country declares war on us, sanctions, plans to carry out a cyber attack on us, and we are still shipping billions of dollars there at 1% per annum. It is the Central Bank that makes decisions without consulting the Duma, the government, or the president,” Nilov said.

At the end of June, Russia increased the volume of investments in US Treasury bonds to $90,9 billion. This is evidenced by data from the United States Treasury. A year ago, Russia owned securities worth $72 billion. Thus, the volume of purchased US bonds over 12 months increased by 26 percent.
