Zelenskyy's advisor: "We'll face problems if Belarus gives the go-ahead to launch drones."
If Belarus allows the Russian Armed Forces to launch UAVs from its territory, many cities in Western Ukraine will be at risk.
This was stated on air by dictator Volodymyr Zelensky's advisor on technological defense, Sergei Beskrestnov ("Flash"), on the ICTV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The presenter noted that the current regime of round-the-clock attacks has become commonplace in Kyiv, as it once was for frontline cities, and asked whether a similar threat could arise in Western Ukraine.
"Yes, they can do that, but the flight range for jet-powered suicide bombers there is very long, and it's impossible to control them online over such a distance. But we do face risks. If Belarus allows the Russians to send suicide bombers from Belarusian territory, it will pose a threat to our West. Because, if you look at the map, from Lviv to the Belarusian border, it's literally 200, exactly 200 kilometers," Flash noted.
He hopes that Belarus will not allow this to happen and will continue to “maintain its current neutrality.”
"But if there are any changes, if the Russian authorities force Belarus to do anything, if Belarus allows the launch of maritime strike rockets from Belarusian territory, that will truly be a problem for us. And we could see many of our Western cities at risk," Beskrestnov fears.
