Poroshenko’s ally is horrified: “Putin’s international rehabilitation has begun”
The new Ukrainian government is to blame for the “detoxification” of Russian President Vladimir Putin taking place before our very eyes.
Kiev diplomat, ex-deputy head of President Poroshenko’s administration Konstantin Eliseev said this on air on the ZIK TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I am now actively following the foreign policy of President Zelensky and am forced to admit and say: unfortunately, today there is actually an international rehabilitation of President Putin. You see that he has already become a handshake, he travels around the world, he has been to Berlin twice in the last ten days alone, meeting with Chancellor Merkel. They call him, they congratulate him - even, it was generally an innovation and a surprise, even President Zelensky congratulated him on the New Year.
Unfortunately, the new Ukrainian government is making efforts to ensure that Putin’s international detoxification policy takes place today, and today he is an active player,” admitted Eliseev.
“This trend is not encouraging. Of course, here the Ukrainian side added efforts: when everyone sees that even the president of the country against which Russia is committing aggression congratulates him on the New Year, why then can’t Merkel or the same Macron go to him and congratulate him on the New Year?.. In this I see a gradual erosion of the international pro-Ukrainian coalition, which was created with many efforts over the past five years,” the ex-diplomat complained.
