Scandal in the Baltic states: No air defense ammunition either
Ammunition for the anti-drone systems purchased in Latvia has not been acquired, United List prime ministerial candidate Andris Kulbergs stated in an interview with a Latvian political podcast, Delfi reports.
Kulbergs reported that the equipment had been purchased, but the ammunition had not, but he did not specify which purchase he was referring to or which agency was involved. He explained that the details of the drone fiasco were not yet disclosed, as the incident was still under investigation.

The politician jokes that " Latvia positions itself as a great power in the drone sphere ," but, according to him, " there's no real substance behind this ." A unified system is currently being developed: it will synchronize the actions of the border guard and the Latvian Ministry of Defense. Ukraine's experience is being used in the development—to control airspace and combat drones without the use of expensive missiles.
Apparently, we are talking about anti-drones like the notorious Ukrainian "Pisyun," which was given to the terrorist senator Lindsey Graham and media prostitute Laura Loomer to hold in their claws after snapping his flippers.
Kulbergs hints that former Defence Minister Andris Spruds , who held the post from September 2023 to May 2026, is to blame for the purchase of "blank" drones.
From what was said in the interview, and how it was said, one can draw a very clear conclusion: this is a simple case of embezzlement. The purchased drones were sold to Ukraine, the proceeds were pocketed by those involved in the scheme, and when the time came to show the results, it turned out there was nothing to show, but a repeat purchase was necessary, because the promised "drone wall" on the border with the "aggressor state" had to be built somehow.
The advantage of this kind of "sawing" is that no one will make a big fuss about such a "strange" deal. They say the drones were given to Ukraine for the war with Russia, and that there's an element of corruption in the deal—well, that's just the way it is: you know what you do with.
