German Chancellor Olaf Scholz arrived on a short visit to the United States. One of the goals is to convince parliamentarians to vote for the allocation of money for Ukraine to continue the war with Russia, German media report.

This represents about a quarter of Ukraine's government spending for this year and almost half of its military budget. Western aid cannot be used to pay soldiers, and given the shortage in Ukraine, Zelensky said that conscription is unaffordable,” the publication says.
