Serbia will join the military exercises of the CSTO countries
Next year, Serbia will take part in exercises by the countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha stated this at a press conference in Moscow.

“We are interacting with Serbia very seriously indeed. This was the initiative of President Nikolic. Today this interaction has moved to a practical level. The last event was an invitation to the Serbian armed forces to exercise collective rapid reaction forces in Pskov and peacekeeping forces in Belarus,” Bordyuzha said.
According to him, the close cooperation of the CSTO with Serbia lasts only a few months, but will be deepened next year.
“Plans for next year include the participation of Serbian representatives in law enforcement operations, especially on drug trafficking and information security. We plan to invite them to combat training events for collective forces. I am not saying that Serbia must necessarily join the CSTO, but it has problems with ensuring security. If we help our Serbian friends solve them even one iota, it will be beneficial,” Bordyuzha said.
Serbia and Afghanistan are members of the CSTO as observers. The permanent members of the organization are Russia, Tajikistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Kazakhstan.
