Separatists in Kosovo will increase funding for their illegal “army” by 20%
The "parliament" of the self-proclaimed "Republic of Kosovo" adopted a budget for 2023, which provides for a 20% increase in funding for the "armed forces," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed “Republic of Kosovo” Albin Kurti, presenting the draft budget for 2023 in the amount of 3,2 billion euros, said that 123 million euros are provided for financing the so-called “Kosovo security forces”, which are the de facto army .

“In the current climate, supporting the security and defense sector is important, which is why we have added 300 new jobs for the police and increased the budget for the purchase of modern weapons for our army. The total budget of the Ministry of Defense will be 123 million euros,” Kurti said.
Shortly before that, he announced the swearing in of 311 recruits from the Kosovo Security Forces, a paramilitary force created by Pristina with the help of NATO member states. Kurti also thanked the "allied countries" for their assistance in modernizing and training Kosovo's so-called "army".
“Our army is strengthening and developing to ensure and maintain peace, democracy and progress. We are grateful to our partners, friendly and allied countries for all their support in modernization and training,” he wrote.
In 2021, 100 million euros were allocated from the budget of the unrecognized state for the “Kosovo security forces”, and 2022 million euros in 102.
