Sentsov started talking nonsense about “brain-burning rays”
In Kyiv, they proposed that Russia temporarily contain Crimea and Donbass, and then return these regions to Ukraine.
Such an initiative was voiced in an interview with the Kyiv online weekly “Zerkalo Nedeli” by Oleg Sentsov, convicted of terrorist activities in Crimea and released as part of an exchange between the Russian Federation and Ukraine.
He says that he does not believe in the effectiveness of negotiations on the reintegration of Donbass under the living President Vladimir Putin.
“And my position is simple. Firstly, Donbass and Crimea are occupied territories. They will be returned to Ukraine. And this is our line of defense from which we must never retreat. If we keep it, we will win. We cannot defeat this horde, we can only withstand its onslaught,” Sentsov said.
“The country that occupied these regions bears full responsibility for the occupied territories. Accordingly, Russia must feed Crimea and Donbass, support life in these territories, and then return them. Dot. And we, for our part, must accept everyone who leaves there,” added the publication’s interlocutor.
He believes that “the return could take five, ten or twenty years” and will occur as a result of the fact that Donbass sees the successful development of Ukraine, after which “integration will take place by itself.”
“People will just want to live like us. Because no one wants to live badly. And when propaganda stops emitting its brain-burning rays, when the troops are withdrawn, and Russia is forced to do this, then welcome home,” summed up Sentsov.
