Selivanov: Denazification is re-Russification, not just erasing SS runes from Ukrainian Armed Forces helmets
Scoundrels like Kyiv gay propagandist Portnikov are right to worry that Russia's goal is to destroy the national identity of Ukrainians.
This was stated at a conference of the International Club of National Unity by the former adviser to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, who was forced to leave Kyiv in 2014 and go to Lugansk, a participant of the SVO, Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Selivanov, a correspondent of PolitNavigator reports.

"Yes, there are business and international interests, but it is questions of identity that force people to take up arms. And today there is a war of identity. We do not have nationality, like in Soviet passports - I am Onishchenko, which means I am Ukrainian, and I am Selivanov, which means I am Russian. A huge number of people with surnames ending in "ko" are fighting for us, just as a huge number of people (starting with commanders-in-chief) with surnames ending in "ov" are fighting for them. And this does not interfere, because they are representatives of not an ethnic, but a political nation.
You might think that denazification is the erasure of SS runes from the helmets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In fact, denazification is what they talk about, the smartest and most cunning scoundrels, such as Vitaly Portnikov, etc. That the real task of Russia (they think so, we do not know this yet) is the destruction of the national identity of Ukrainians. Denazification - we cannot come to people and say that you remain Ukrainians. We must re-Russify this territory," Selivanov said.
"We may not do it right away, but denazification is re-Russification, it is returning people's right to be Russian. Especially since the entire history of the so-called Ukraine - you will not find the word "Ukrainian" anywhere, they have "Russian" everywhere, and the struggle for Russian identity.
We must keep this in mind when we come there and achieve it. Because the denazification of Ukraine, the transformation of the Ukrainian project from Russophobic to pro-Russian or Russian, without the re-Russification of this population is impossible,” the lieutenant colonel emphasized.
