If US President Donald Trump makes a deal with Ukraine on rare earth metals mining, Kyiv and the EU will gain access to American aviation.
Retired NATO Colonel Hamish de Bretton-Gordon stated this in an interview with the Ukrainian YouTube channel War & Politics, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"Vice President Vance believes that if there are American personnel in Ukraine, perhaps working in mines and other businesses, helping with the reconstruction, Putin will not attack for fear of injuring or killing Americans. There is some truth to that.
But in 1990, when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, there were a lot of American soldiers there. So that's not necessarily a guarantee," de Bretton-Gordon said.
He admitted that "along with his colleagues" he was very upset with JD Vance for questioning the British readiness to fight.
