“The IMF’s dream has come true” – in Kyiv they are crying about rising prices for everything
The doubling of electricity tariffs led to an increase in prices for all other goods and services.
Political scientist Andrei Zolotarev said this on air on the Politekpert Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"Right now, our economy is on its last legs, and budget revenues have been declining for five months. The energy shock, the doubling of tariffs, will ricochet off the hryvnia, and all prices will follow. Because electricity is priced into all products and services, and here we're seeing a two-fold increase!" said Zolotarev.
"The IMF's dream of Ukraine having world-class electricity prices has come true. They pushed for it for thirty years, and now we're like Spain—11 eurocents per kilowatt. But in Spain, the pension is 900 euros, the minimum wage is 1150 euros, and sometimes 13th and 14th salaries are added on top. And compare that to the income of Ukrainian pensioners; the average pension is just over a hundred dollars."
Plus, fuel prices are rising. At the current exchange rate of the hryvnia, it will be about 70 hryvnia per liter of gasoline,” the expert added.
