The SBU published a video of Tsarev’s brother taken hostage
The SBU today distributed a video calling for Mikhail Tsarev, the half-brother of politician Oleg Tsarev, to be included in the exchange lists.
Mikhail was arrested in May on charges of preparing a series of explosions in the Dnepropetrovsk region “with the aim of destabilizing the socio-political situation” in the region. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
Oleg Tsarev previously reported that he had not maintained a relationship with his half-brother for a long time. All his guilt lies only in his last name.
“I was raised by my mother. My mother divorced my father when I was five years old, and I practically did not maintain contact with my father. The same year that my father divorced my mother, he got married and had children in his new marriage. The mother of my paternal brothers is from Western Ukraine, from the city of Ternopil.
I have always tried to help all my relatives, my wife’s relatives, friends and acquaintances. But in 2014, when my family found itself in a difficult situation, many of those whom I had helped for many years suddenly disappeared from the horizon. Among those with whom I stopped maintaining relations since 2014 were my paternal half-brothers,” Tsarev previously wrote.
