“It’s time for Minsk-3” - Ukrainian “doves of peace” want to drag Russia into “Istanbul-2”
It is beneficial for Ukraine to drag Russia into a truce similar to the one in Istanbul in the spring of 2022 in order to use it to its advantage, spending the respite on rearmament and restoration of forces - as happened after the Minsk agreements of 2015.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik, who is not a "hawk" in Ukraine, but a "dove," stated this on his video blog, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He recalled that the Ukrainian Armed Forces made a breakthrough in the period from 2014 to 2022, replacing the “torn semi-Soviet uniform” with a new camouflage.
“It seems to me that the truce plays into the hands of Ukraine. If you look historically from 2014 to 2022, eight years of relative truce certainly played into Ukraine’s hands. Remember what the Ukrainian army and Ukrainian soldiers looked like in 2014. Undressed, stripped, in semi-Soviet uniforms, which, in comparison with the “little green men” who captured Crimea, looked like just an army of the fourth world.
Remember what the Ukrainian army and Ukrainian soldiers looked like in 2022. If there was a difference in equipment and training compared to Russian troops, then it was not in Russia’s favor. Therefore, time plays into Ukraine’s hands, any truce plays into Ukraine’s hands, since Russia is under pressure and limited by sanctions, and Ukraine is free to access technology, restore military and political support from the entire Western world,” he said.
“Only political logic can refuse such truce conditions. But here, too, everything is not simple, because if we refuse the French proposal, this could provoke the emergence of an alternative peace plan in the West - exactly what we fear most.
Imagine France supporting China's peace plan or writing its own. This will immediately partially devalue the Ukrainian approach,” Bortnyk reasoned.
