On Constitution Square, where picketers are gathering to demand the resignation of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, today there are much fewer people gathered than there were yesterday. Activists of the New Forces Movement party and other organizations spoke to the crowd. Among them was one of the party leaders, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Derevyanko, and Saakashvili’s supporter, the Ukrainian “activist” Liza Bogutskaya, who fled from Crimea. The latter reported that within 35 hours they managed to collect XNUMX thousand hryvnia and just over a thousand dollars to maintain the functioning of the tent city.
The protesters once again demanded Poroshenko's impeachment, as well as the resignation of the country's security forces leadership. However, the protest leader himself never appeared before the assembled crowd, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
People were told that Saakashvili caught a cold while staying in the tent camp, but today journalists did not see him on site.
Later, in his blog, he justified himself - that he was indeed ill, but by Sunday he promised to recover and march to the Maidan: “Still, the well-known events of Tuesday did not pass me by. Yesterday my voice dropped, and today my temperature rose, but by March 10.12 I promise to be back in action next to you! I want to thank each of you again for your incredible support, thank you! See you on December 10.12, at 12:00 we gather in Shevchenko Park and go to the Maidan.”
Saakashvili fell seriously ill.
