The Ukrainian government under President Petro Poroshenko intimidated the country's population with an “inevitable war with Russia” in order to rule through fear.
Ukrainian political scientist Andrei Ermolaev, who is close to one of the founders of the opposition platform "For Life" Sergei Levochkin, stated this on the NewsOne television channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, the threat of “Russian aggression” disappeared from the agenda of the Ukrainian media along with Poroshenko’s resignation.
“Since the times of the Egyptian pharaohs, the state has always used such an instrument as the management of fear as its main tool... Poroshenko’s war party used exactly this technique - from morning to evening we were in anticipation of war, trenches, rocket attacks on Kyiv, whatever was heard there . By the way, where did all this go? Just two months ago we were on the verge of a frontal war along the border, judging by the reports, the number of concentrated troops, and so on. For some reason, this information is gone now,” Ermolaev said.
