An oak tree planted by Trump and Macron was stolen from the White House lawn
An oak seedling planted by the American and French presidents has disappeared from the White House lawn, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is reported by the British newspaper Daily Mail.
The photo shows only yellow grass and no traces of a tree. The White House has not yet commented on the disappearance of the seedling.
French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte visited Washington in honor of the 250th anniversary of relations between the states. As a gift, they brought an oak sapling from the famous Belleau Forest, where the first major battle involving American soldiers in World War I took place in 1918.
Together with Donald and Melania Trump, they solemnly planted a tree in the White House garden.
“One hundred years ago, American soldiers fought in Belot, France, to defend our independence. This oak tree will be a reminder in the heart of the White House of this bond that unites us,” Macron later tweeted.
