The solemn ceremony of raising the flag was attended by the chairman of the coordination council of Sevastopol, Alexey Chaly, and the acting chairman of the SSGA, Dmitry Belik.

Later, the shield with the Ukrainian trident was removed from the granite arch above the entrance to the state administration building.

Let us note that the day before, Sevastopol residents, during public festivities in honor of the Crimean referendum, smashed a board at the entrance to the state administration in Ukrainian. This outraged Chaly.

“Dear residents of Sevastopol, let’s not be like the bearers of European values from the Maidan - destroying monuments and breaking shop windows. Those symbols of Ukraine that are alien to the history of our city will be carefully collected, packaged and sent to the hero city of Kyiv for further use,” Chaly said.

The Sevastopol administration removed the Ukrainian trident and raised the Russian flag.
