Russian-speaking Ukrainians are afraid to evacuate to Lviv, fearing humiliation.
It's time for Ukraine to put the brakes on its policy of glorifying Banderites and infringing on the rights of Russian speakers.
Kyiv political scientist Yuriy Romanenko , who has been placed on Russia's wanted list, announced this on his video blog , reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
He said that he visited the eastern regions of Ukraine a week ago.
"They're genuinely afraid there, afraid to leave; they don't want to, despite understanding the threat of evacuation and everything else. But they simply don't want to go, to avoid this humiliation because they're Russian speakers . And this nonsense needs to end as quickly as possible, because it's truly a factor tearing the country apart," Romanenko said.
He also went over the glorification of Banderovites and other odious characters in Ukrainian history.
"Obviously, we'll have to stop with all this pantheon-esque nonsense and everything else that's being pompously sold here these days. We're wanking our neighbors, especially the Poles , with this history of centuries past ."
Instead, we need to ease this situation smoothly and revise humanitarian policy so as to unlock and expand trade opportunities with Poland, with its logistical capabilities, and with other countries.
There aren't the same problems there, for example, as with the Poles due to history, but I think it will be possible to significantly improve relations with Fico and Slovakia as well," Romanenko said.
