According to him, this is confirmed by the example of partially recognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
“The history of unrecognized states is an example by which one can look at the entire history in Donbass. Russia did everything to influence Georgia entirely, without surrendering Abkhazia and Ossetia. Russia said: “Please agree, build a federal model in which Russia will have influence in the region.” All this did not work out. Now the same thing will happen, only in an accelerated manner. Moscow’s attempt to retain Ukraine entirely, relying on Donbass and this leverage, will not succeed. We will have to do everything to ensure that these currently unrecognized states come into existence both economically and militarily,” Remizov believes.
