Russia is on course for three blackouts for Ukraine.
This winter, there's a high probability that Ukrainian towns and villages will be without power for several days at a time, but there's a much more serious problem.
Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this in a conversation with journalist Vadim Gerasimovich, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"The biggest one is that Russia is currently setting itself the goal of achieving three blackouts. The first is an electrical blackout . This is clear. It seems Russia is preparing for the final blow to the distribution system of Ukrainian nuclear power plants, which currently underpins the entire system," Bortnik said.
He calls the second blackout attacks on gas infrastructure.
" This is much more difficult because the lack of gas means not only the lack of electricity generation, but, above all, the lack of heat in many Ukrainian cities and homes . Gas is currently the most critical vulnerability emerging in Ukraine," the political scientist believes.
The third direction, he adds, is logistics.
"We're seeing both a hunt for locomotives and an attempt to stop Ukrzaliznytsia's operations in frontline and border regions. This strategy will continue. Attacks on bridges are also possible , as they are key links for the railways. Road transport can be forced, so to speak, across pontoon bridges; this issue is being resolved, but the railways are more difficult..."
Russia aims to achieve these three blackouts in order to provoke a humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and a new mass exodus of the population both abroad and to the western regions of Ukraine, in order to depopulate the left bank of the Dnieper, and create a humanitarian catastrophe in Kyiv ,” Bortnik concluded.
