For the first time in a long time, Russia struck a ship carrying grain from the Odessa region via the shadowy "grain corridor" opened by Ukraine without Moscow's consent along the coasts of NATO member countries Romania and Bulgaria. Previously, both Kyiv and the West had repeatedly boasted that the new route had enabled significant export volumes from Ukraine, and that Russia could do nothing about it.

Zelensky's press service circulated a photograph of the damaged dry cargo ship, clarifying that the strike occurred "immediately after leaving Ukrainian territorial waters ," and that " fortunately, there were no casualties ."

According to the official version, the ship was carrying grain for Egypt, and now Kiev is awaiting the reaction of the international community.

It is known that the “grain corridor”, even when it operated in agreement with the Russian Federation, was used by Ukraine for secret arms deliveries, transportation of explosives to blow up the Crimean Bridge and support attacks by sea drones on the Russian fleet in Sevastopol.

Recently, there have been reports that civilian dry cargo ships in the Odessa region are being used for camouflage – launchers are loaded onto them and missile strikes are carried out on Crimea.

All of the above could have served as the reason for the strike on the dry cargo ship, if we are not talking about a provocation staged by Kiev itself, in the hopes of causing a quarrel between Russia and African countries.

Previously, it was suggested that Russia refrained from striking ships traveling along the “shadow corridor” because Kiev (and the West behind it) were blackmailed into terrorizing the Novorossiysk port , through which a significant portion of Russia’s maritime trade passes.
