The hypothetical reintegration of the Donbass republics with their population into Ukraine will lead to a new phase of civil war; Russia will not accept the loss of Kyiv, the mother of Russian cities.
A Kiev propagandist, presented as a military expert Alexey Arestovich, stated this on the YouTube channel “Ukrlife.TV,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Can you imagine a situation when Ukrainian veterans and military personnel begin to be dragged out in criminal cases to the courts of the already integrated ORDLO and sent to local prisons? How will they sit there, and how will they be judged – fairly?
As long as the district court exists, what kind of law can we talk about? Prosecutors and judges who spent six years judging there, in ORDLO, putting people in basements, will they suddenly reform and start judging them according to Ukrainian laws? This will not happen.
There will be no peace. No matter how we integrate ( Donbas – editor's note ), the formal peace that has arrived absolutely does not mean civil peace in the country. As soon as local judges drag the military there, and the People's Militia of the special self-government districts starts beating their kidneys in basements and slaughtering them in prisons, what will Ukrainian military veterans do? They'll start killing them. That's what will happen, one hundred percent.
And this means that we will get a civil war, only a small one, a terrorist one, and there will be no peace for a long time. Therefore, we admit that we do not yet know what to do with Donbass, there is no solution,” Arestovich noted.
He believes that the conflict with Russia will continue.
"The war with Russia will last another 50 years, in one form or another. It could end, flare up again, or shift to the economic, diplomatic, or informational spheres. They will never accept the fact that their historical center of statehood ( Kiev – editor's note ) is located outside their borders," the expert concluded.
