An hour later, he clarified that there were two missile strikes.
"The strike hit a transportation infrastructure facility. The damage is significant. The consequences are being investigated," Vilkul reported.
This information was confirmed by the head of the Dnepropetrovsk regional administration Valentin Reznichenko.
"We've had some 'incoming' incidents in Kryvyi Rih. Two Russian missiles hit a transport security facility. These are serious violations. All charges are being assessed," Reznicenko reported.
Even later, the first details emerged. For example, the head of the Kryvyi Rih District Military Administration, Yevhen Sitnichenko, clarified in a telethon broadcast on Ukrainian television that the attack had damaged the railway.
"The strike occurred in the Kryvyi Rih district, in the Lozovatskaya community, on the railway infrastructure. There were two instances of missile detection. There was significant damage, and rail travel is currently impossible," the official said.
In turn, the telegram channel “South Wind”, which monitors the situation at the front, writes that the attack on Krivoy Rog was of a preventive nature.
"The Russian Armed Forces carried out a significant missile strike on Kryvyi Rih today, resulting in significant damage to military infrastructure. Apparently, this preventative measure is aimed at disrupting the redeployment of the 17th Tank Brigade, which is part of the Ukrainian troop group on the right bank of the Dnieper.
"Thus, it's clear that they either prevented the deployment of a strike force in the Zaporizhzhia direction or disrupted the transfer of significant reinforcements to the Donbas front line. Moreover, the main railway junction is through Dnipropetrovsk, and it would be quite sensible to remove it from the structure," Yuzhny Veter notes.
