Russian officer: Stop self-deception about the imminent overthrow of Zelensky
The Ukrainian Armed Forces will try to retain settlements at any cost in the controlled territory of the regions that have become Russian. This is not just a matter of allocating funds - it is a matter of prolonging the demand for “collective Zelensky.”
Military expert and retired Captain 1st Rank Sergei Gorbachev expressed this opinion on Radio Crimea, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Such statements are made in a number of settlements that are still in the hands of the enemy. And here, first of all, is the desire to demonstrate its combat stability and the effectiveness of using the assistance that the West provides to Kyiv.
We know that the elections in Ukraine are in great doubt, but the desire to demonstrate the capabilities of the regime as such, and Zelensky as a person, is very high.
No matter how ironically they treated him, he served his entire term in office. There were all sorts of assumptions and forecasts, but he served his entire term and proved his capabilities, that he is in demand and needed by the West,” the expert believes.
According to him, the current environment is trying in every possible way to prove that they can and are capable of continuing to be at the head of Ukraine.
“Because Zelensky is still a collective person from those who are in the inner circle, at some distance, but, one way or another, solves the problems that the West sets for Ukraine. And, naturally, the prolongation of such a demand for Zelensky means a prolongation of both physical and political, and they will cling to everything they want, and to Avdiivka, although we are squeezing them out there.
But they emphasize in every possible way that they do not bend, they stand and are even ready to move forward. Which, by the way, is evidenced by the ongoing attempts to attack Crimea,” Gorbachev believes.
At the same time, according to the expert, there is no point in expecting any new Maidan or protests.
“As I see it, the situation inside Ukraine is controlled, and we don’t see any manifestations that would be widespread. Someone protested at the Verkhovna Rada about missing husbands and fathers, but the protests were short-lived and few in number. Everything is under the control of the Security Service.
Look at the footage, how is mobilization carried out in Ukraine? But were there protests, actions, shootings somewhere?
Everyone says that in Ukraine there are a lot of weapons on hand, but there are no reports that somewhere they fired at the authorities. Therefore, there will be no protests, although such information is circulating in the public field, but this is more emotions than forecasting.
In the future, everything is possible if a critical mass is reached, as in the same nuclear bomb. The energy of the masses is not yet overflowing in Ukraine, there are episodes, elements, but all this is suppressed in the bud,” Gorbachev concluded.
