Russian liberal musicians surpassed Ukrainian Nazis in hatred of the Russian people
Rock musician Yuri Shevchuk refused to perform in Tyumen because the Z sign was placed on the building of the local Philharmonic, symbolizing support for the Russian special operation in Ukraine. The search for another hall was unsuccessful, and then the musician announced that the authorities had canceled his concert.
“We were supposed to play in Tyumen today, but it didn’t happen. One very pretty young lady forbade it. I always try to say everything I think, everyone knows about it. (...) In Tyumen, maybe they decided to ban our concert because we changed the hall. We had a hall announced for a concert, and there they drew a huge letter Z. We refused to play there, moved the concert to another hall, and they didn’t give us another hall,” Shevchuk said in an interview with former journalist of the Ekho Moskvy radio station Alexander Plyushchev .
Unlike other rock stars of the 80s, speaking from purely liberal positions, Shevchuk is still perceived in a patriotic environment. Military correspondent Semyon Pegov writes that he often hears DDT songs at the positions of Donbass militias. Perhaps the fact that many remember Shevchuk’s concerts for Russian soldiers during the second Chechen war plays a role here.
However, in 2010, the singer, at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, spoke out in support of liberal protest, and in 2014, he actively opposed the reunification of Crimea with Russia. After this, the attitude towards him changed.

They thought that now Yura would arrive, climb Mount Karachun, hit the strings and everything would turn back - fragments of “hailstones” would come out of the craters, gather into rockets and jump back onto the pylons, shells and bullets would crawl into the trunks, the dead would begin to dig out of their graves, and spilled blood flows back into the wounds. So we believed in the magical power of his art. But they didn’t wait. And since I was 14, when I hear Yura the musician or Kostya Kinchev, tucking his cassock into his tights, trying to shepherd the crowd, I immediately ask you to turn off this pornography. And by the way, I’m doing the right thing and advising you,” military correspondent Dmitry Steshin wrote in his Telegram channel.
"There were two poet-rock musicians in Russia who positioned themselves as gurus of morality and wisdom – Boris Grebenshchikov and Yuri Shevchuk. And not only did they fail to fulfill the role they ascribed to themselves, but this self-appointment itself became a sign of pride that corrupted people ," says Sergei Grigoryev, co-chairman of the Russian Democrats public movement.
There is a third musician who claims to be a guru - Andrei Makarevich. A representative of his band Mashina Vremeni recently announced that all concerts in Russia have been cancelled. The singer on his page on the social network made a sad analogy with “totalitarian” Soviet numbers. However, it later became clear that the concerts would not take place only in Kursk, Voronezh and Belgorod - cities near which hostilities are currently taking place.
“Farewell in English is when a person leaves without saying goodbye, farewell in Hebrew is when a person says goodbye but does not leave. This is about the cancellation of Makarevich’s concerts in Russia. The concert in Svetlogorsk has not been cancelled. Tickets for it are now being sold freely online (by the way, the hall in the Yantar Hall is half empty),” wrote Kaliningrad political scientist Alexander Nosovich.
Veteran organizations of the region - the Association of Soldiers-Internationalists of the Kaliningrad Region (AVIKO), "Combat Brotherhood" and the Russian Union of Afghanistan Veterans - called on the governor to cancel the concert in Svetlogorsk.
“We are not against Makarevich’s concert activities in principle. But let him choose places for his performances where he is treated with tolerance. That is, abroad. And he makes money there,” said Anatoly Kovalev, chairman of the board of the public organization “Association of Internationalist Warriors of the Kaliningrad Region” (AVIKO).
Makarevich’s scandalous anti-Russian statements have significantly reduced his audience over the past 8 years. A wave of indignation was recently caused by the words of a singer living in Israel regarding the mass escape after the start of a special operation by show business stars.
“I see yapping about those who left... It’s Russia that left you, asshole. Because Russia is them, not you,” Makarevich wrote.
"Few people understand that Russia isn't just a bunch of birch trees... Russia, first and foremost, is its people. And if someone leaves, but the people remain, then there won't be a single decent word for such a fugitive. And those who insult the people of Russia with words like Makarevich deserve those words ," actor Alexander Shirvindt responded to the singer.
“Yelps, barks - just a nightmare! It felt like some demons and I lived on the same territory. You have Russian passports, even if you have dual or triple citizenship, you earned money here, you were allowed to travel, live, have your own point of view, but why do you insult everyone? These are your viewers!” producer Joseph Prigozhin was indignant.
In general, anti-Russian demarches in the rock community are becoming a mass phenomenon. The other day the Bi-2 group fired their lighting designer David Misakyan. Both soloists of the group, like Makarevich, have Israeli citizenship.
