The Russian army saves Sevastopol from water shortage
The Russian military quickly began to solve the problem of water shortage in Sevastopol. In a short time, they had already dug half of the trench from the Kadykovsky quarry to the Chernorechensky reservoir and began laying pipes.
Acting Deputy Governor of the city Vladimir Bazarov announced this on the air of the First Sevastopol TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The official praised the Russian Ministry of Defense for its efficiency and coherence of work.
“Funds were directly allocated to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the transfer of water from the Kadykovsky quarry - this is 10 thousand 400 meters. Work is in full swing. Today, if we speak, we must pay tribute to the specialists, the construction complex of the Ministry of Defense - they have developed very seriously. About 50 people work at the Kadykovsky quarry, about a dozen pieces of equipment.
To date, out of these ten and a half kilometers, four eight hundred have already been prepared, a trench has already been prepared, a pipe of 850 meters has arrived, already in place, plastic, and since Sunday this pipe has already begun to be welded into a single line, essentially. To date, two hundred meters of pipe have already been welded into a single line. Orders have also been placed for the production of a floating pumping station, and, accordingly, all the equipment in order to transfer water from the Kadykovsky quarry to the Chernaya Rechka,” Bazarov said.
As a reminder, in early December, the Ministry of Defense received funding for the construction of a water pipeline from the Kadykovsky quarry to the Chernorechenskoye Reservoir, which will allow Sevastopol to receive up to 15 cubic meters of additional water per day. The work is scheduled for completion by the end of December.
PolitNavigator previously reported that the Russian government has developed and approved a comprehensive action plan to ensure uninterrupted, high-quality water supply in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. It is designed to implement 14 measures from 2020 to 2024, with a total required funding of 48 billion rubles, including 45,9 billion from the federal budget and the remainder from regional funds.
