Russia has someone to rely on in Europe – Putin
Despite the Russophobia of politicians, many residents of EU countries remain friends of Russia, and some even help defend it from neo-Nazis.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this at the "Knowledge. First" forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There have always been people who shared and today share our principles, values, and people who are with us.
And today, some citizens of the French Republic, together with our soldiers in the special military operation zone, are fighting shoulder to shoulder and have named their unit the same as their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, Normandie-Niemen,” Putin said.
He stressed that there are still people in the EU countries on whom Russia could rely.
"I have no doubt that sooner or later our relations with Europe will be restored . This is certainly true, including with the support of people like you—and people who were born and raised in Spain, and some of them, Spaniards, were born and raised in the Soviet Union. These are the children of those very families who moved to the Soviet Union during the civil war. We have people there to rely on," he concluded.
