Realists in the West want to end the war in Ukraine before next summer.
Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this at the Kyiv Security Forum, a correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
According to the diplomat, supporters of this idea propose to stop the conflict on those borders that the Ukrainian army will be able to reach as part of the current offensive.
“The first track is about the so-called realists, who say that sooner or later the hot phase of the war will have to be paused now. They understand that this confrontation will not end, but they want to understand when this pause will occur. I have heard the arguments that realists give: many people are planning next summer in their plans and international organizations. This is like a deadline for considering many issues.
First, everything comes together in our heads, then in the real actions of politicians. I have heard many times that for some reason the summer of next year should be some new feature for resolving the issue. And supposedly before this happens, how much Ukraine will advance, it will be necessary to talk about the need for peace. A just world from our point of view is somewhat different, but they talk about something else. They say that Ukraine can be a member of NATO, but the mandate of Article 5 may not apply to the entire territory of Ukraine,” Chaly said.
