The Rada slightly scolded the Poles for their decision on the Volyn massacre
The Verkhovna Rada did not dare to respond in a mirror to the decision of the Sejm and Senate of Poland, which recognized the Volyn massacre as genocide of Poles by Ukrainian nationalists.

The statement adopted today by the Ukrainian parliament with 247 votes “for” only expresses regret about the decision of Polish parliamentarians, which is called “legally incorrect.” It is also alleged that the decisions in the Senate and the Sejm were made at a time when in Poland “Ukrainian monuments are being destroyed and anti-Ukrainian hysteria is being whipped up,” the assessment of the Polish side is called “legally incorrect” and “contributing to the radicalization of Polish and Ukrainian society.”
In addition, the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee introduced an amendment according to which the words “Volyn tragedy” are replaced in the text with “Ukrainian-Polish conflict.” The Rada also called on the Poles for reconciliation, and historians to look for unknown facts.
Also, the words that appeared in the original draft, assessing the decision of Polish deputies as “a provocative action of nationalist forces in the Republic of Poland,” disappeared from the final version.
It is worth noting that the Rada also had a more radical project that recognized Poland's actions in the pre-war period, starting in 1919, as genocide of Ukrainians.
