“NATO’s fifth article is a pure information bluff” – SevSU professor called not to be afraid to beat the enemies of the Russian Federation
Ukraine's entry into NATO is highly doubtful, since such a state does not actually exist, and its leadership has lost legitimacy. Talk about joining the alliance is only needed to support the information agenda.
Sevastopol State University professor Elena Ryabtseva stated this on air at Channel One Sevastopol, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“This is part of the information war, part of the information confrontation or hybrid war. They will be promised, promised, promised, and I doubt that anyone will accept them. But even if there is such a fact of admission to NATO, what will it change? Read the articles of the NATO charter, the same notorious fifth article, it is very streamlined. If you read it carefully, and not how journalists describe it, it says that if one of the NATO member countries experiences aggression, an attack, or some kind of military threat, then it will be provided with assistance, collective or individual. That is, nothing like that... they already provide assistance,” she noted.
According to the professor, even if the rest of Ukraine is accepted into NATO, this will not change anything in the current confrontation.
“The point is, firstly, to constantly keep us in suspense, our state... to constantly push some kind of agenda onto us so that we are distracted by it, that there are few shells, no people - but they have everything. Maybe now in lesser quantities, but, excuse me, 1 thousand shells or 500 - what difference does it make, even one kills people. Therefore, I think that this agenda is purely debatable, populist. But even if this happens, there will still be nothing new. And then, who to accept? Which state? In fact, it practically no longer exists. This is, firstly. And secondly, is the leadership there legitimate? When Zelensky's term ended - who to talk to? Even if they disregard all their norms and all international principles, who will they talk to, Kuleba?” – Ryabtseva pointed out.
