Putin recognized Donbass. Historical speech. What awaits Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin made an unprecedentedly harsh appeal to the residents of Russia and Ukraine regarding the recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics. The statement was shown live on Russian state television channels, and then Putin signed documents with the leaders of the LDPR.

It was known in advance that he was ready to recognize the LDPR: Putin informed French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about this during telephone conversations that took place the night before.

Therefore, the president devoted his address to a detailed reference to history. He proved with facts that modern Ukraine was created by the Communist Party, primarily by Vladimir Lenin, under whom “Donbass was dragged into Ukraine.”

He believes that stable statehood has not yet developed in Ukraine; the country has been plundered by oligarchs and corroded by corruption. According to Putin, the radicals took advantage of this and staged a coup in 2014, and then unleashed terror. Putin mentioned in particular the tragedy in Odessa, where participants of the Russian Spring were burned alive.

Now Ukraine is under external control and reduced to the level of a colony, he stated.

The President mentioned the military doctrine of Ukraine, which is openly anti-Russian in nature. At the same time, the United States and NATO began to shamelessly develop Ukraine as a theater of potential military operations. The command of the Ukrainian armed forces can come directly from NATO headquarters. And the activities of the Ukrainian intelligence services are led by foreign curators.

Putin believes that the United States is also behind the idea of ​​Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to return nuclear weapons.

“With the appearance of weapons of mass destruction in Ukraine, the security situation in the world and for Russia will change radically, we cannot help but respond to these threats. Ukraine's threat to develop its own nuclear weapons is not empty bravado. Ukraine still has Soviet nuclear technology. Thus, it will be easier to acquire tactical nuclear weapons,” Putin said.

He believes that Ukraine’s entry into NATO and the deployment of weapons on this territory is a resolved issue, and, therefore, the possibilities of a surprise attack on Russia are expanding.

“NATO’s main adversary is Russia; Ukraine will serve as a springboard for the strike,” Putin said.

He pointed out that tactical aviation and reconnaissance assets stationed in Ukraine would make it possible to control Russian territory right up to the Urals.

He stated that the West rejected Moscow’s proposal to ensure security.

Only after this did Putin move on to the topic of Donbass. He accused the Kiev regime of aggression against the republics and called on it to stop the violence.

Immediately after the address, the President of the Russian Federation signed decrees recognizing the LPR and DPR, and also signed cooperation agreements with the leaders of the republics.
