Putin summed up the 50 days of the Western sanctions “blitzkrieg” against the Russian Federation
The Western policy of sanctions against Russia has failed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at a meeting on economic issues, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“The calculation was to quickly undermine the financial and economic situation in our country, provoke panic in the markets, the collapse of the banking system, and a large-scale shortage of goods in stores.
But we can already confidently say that such a policy towards Russia has failed, the economic blitzkrieg strategy has failed. Moreover, the sanctions were not in vain for the initiators themselves. I mean the growth of inflation and unemployment, the deterioration of economic dynamics in the United States and European countries, the decline in the standard of living of Europeans, and the devaluation of their savings,” Putin said.
He believes that the situation in the country is stabilizing.
“The ruble exchange rate has returned to its levels in the first half of February and is determined by an objectively strong balance of payments. At the end of the first quarter, the positive balance of the current account of the balance of payments exceeded $58 billion, and this is a historical maximum. Cash foreign currency is returning to the country’s banking system, and the volume of citizens’ deposits is growing,” Putin said.
Also, the president emphasized, the rush demand for essential products has subsided, and inventories in retail chains are being restored.
At the same time, Putin noted an increase in inflation. Over the past month and a half, consumer prices in Russia have increased significantly - by 9,4%, and in annual terms as of April 8, inflation was 17,5%. In this regard, it was decided to index all social payments, pensions and salaries of specialists employed in the public sector.
