By reformatting “ATO” into “JFO”, the Ukrainian government freed itself from the need to pay compensation to residents of Donbass for property lost during hostilities by court decision.
Political scientist Dmitry Korneychuk stated this live on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The ATO format left many mechanisms allowing many Ukrainians, whose houses were destroyed in Donbass as a result of the war, to sue the state and demand compensation. Now, since this is called the “Joint Forces Operation,” no compensation is due and you can say: “Guys, we have a war there, address all demands for compensation to Russia,” he said.
