“They took us in an electric car for veterans”: Russian media drew attention to Lukashenko’s unhealthy appearance
Yesterday at the celebrations in Moscow. Dedicated to the celebration of May 9, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko looked sick.
This is what PolitNavigator correspondent Andrei Kolesnikov, a Kommersant correspondent, writes about in an article dedicated to the celebration of 9 Moscow.

“Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko made an impression with his unhealthy appearance, and I suddenly felt acutely sorry for this elderly man, who had nevertheless gathered at the last moment for Moscow. Now, it seemed, he was not feeling well at all, and God forbid, he would need a stretcher with a resuscitation instrument, which was brought to the corner of GUM just before the start of the event. (And, probably, these were not the only such stretchers... On every corner...) But at least he managed to bask in the sun,” says the author.
According to him, when the leaders were about to go lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the President of Belarus distracted Vladimir Putin at the Mausoleum.
“He was explaining something to Vladimir Putin. As it turned out, why doesn’t he go along with everyone else? Alexander Lukashenko really felt very bad. But he tried. He wanted to be at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
In the end, he was given an electric car designed to transport veterans (there were already six or seven of these electric cars lined up on the square), and this electric car with the President of Belarus moved behind the line of presidents, who walked very slowly. In the end, in this line there were also very elderly people (and they were all still greeting the stands, and God forbid, they would have stumbled or something else), writes the journalist.
He adds that against this background, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov’s successor as the President of Turkmenistan, his son Serdar Berdimuhamedov himself, stood out with his athletic form - first of all, with his ideal sports uniform or even forms. He even looked simply defiant, especially against the backdrop of the electric car with Alexander Lukashenko.
“It must be said that at the working breakfast, or, more simply, at the lunch that Vladimir Putin arranged for his colleagues, Alexander Lukashenko was no longer present. At this point he asked for time off. And what, almost the whole country was already sitting at the tables. Moreover, its name is USSR,” sums up Kolesnikov.
