“We are not in the same relationship with Russia; ours is quite cold. We do not have a positive attitude towards the issue of Crimea.

Ukraine is a strategic ally of Turkey, our neighbor. And it is in our interests for Ukraine to be strong, independent, with good reforms, democratic, integrated with Europe, a country with territorial integrity, including Crimea, and sovereignty. These are basic questions.

This has always been the case throughout the crisis in Ukraine and throughout our crisis with Russia. Relations with Ukraine and our attitude towards Crimea have not changed. And Russia and our allies know this.

My blood pumps when I hear about this, about the issue of the Crimean Tatars, who are our brothers. And now the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people cannot even live on their territory, they were expelled,” said the Turkish representative.
