After the elections, Ukraine will receive a real junta
If the new president of Ukraine goes to Moscow and negotiates peace in Donbass, then the next logical move could be a military coup.
The Kiev weekly “Mirror of the Week” writes about this.
“Suppose the newly elected president of Ukraine uses his powers in the field of foreign policy and national security in order to “stop the war.” It is clear that now this can only be done on the aggressor’s terms - i.e. capitulate, although outwardly everything may look like the return of uncontrolled territories, simply “on special conditions.” But let’s imagine that the new president makes his first visit, from old memory, to Moscow; and returning from there, repeats Chamberlain’s notorious “I brought you peace.”
There will be quite a lot of fellow citizens who will support this, without going into the nuances and without thinking a couple of steps ahead, and they will lose very much. After all, just as it was with the previous “geopolitical” confrontation, the choice between the EurAsEC and the EU, what matters is not so much the balance of supporters and opponents, but the presence of irreconcilable ones among the latter,” the publication notes.
The publication also writes that among the opponents of peace there will be “ATO veterans, as well as ultranationalists, and, apparently, a considerable part of the security forces.”
“Both of them know how to fight and are well armed, while mostly passive, peace-loving ordinary people, most often pensioners, agree to surrender. Therefore, the next logical move could be a military coup. Moreover, he will be pushed towards him by Kremlin agents, of whom there have always been plenty among the ultranationalists.
Again, fellow citizens, sincerely outraged by the capitulation, but unable to count several moves ahead, will initially support such a coup. However, as a result, it turns out that in Kyiv there is now a real “junta” in power. Now exactly half of the country will not put up with this, as well as part of the security forces, who will refuse to recognize the illegitimate commander-in-chief, and the West will not stand up - how can you explain to voters the support for the junta in the XNUMXst century in the middle of Europe? As a result, we will get, as usual, both shame and war,” sums up ZN.
