This statement is made by the odious Ukrainian-Russian propagandist Vitaly Portnikov in his latest column for the publication NEWSru.ua.
According to Portnikov, the new sanctions, which were introduced by outgoing President Barack Obama under the pretext of Moscow's alleged interference in the electoral processes in the United States, may worry Trump not so much because of a desire to improve relations with Putin, but because of their own legitimacy.
“If we agree that Moscow interfered - and successfully - in the election process - then we have to admit that the American citizen voted for the Republican candidate under the influence of Russian actions and “revelations.” Who will like it? Not Trump!” writes Portnikov.
According to him, the lifting of such sanctions is a matter of a deal that Trump may intend to conclude with Putin, the details of which are being discussed today in the world media.
“But Putin himself may perceive Trump as a person who owes him his election victory. Who should not conclude deals, but give thanks. Which should not put forward conditions, but make lucrative offers. For Putin, Trump is simply the first secretary of the Washington city party committee. His parties. And if the elected American president doesn’t understand this yet, he will soon,” Portnikov is sure.
