Poroshenko summoned Zelensky
On the eve of the New Year, Petro Poroshenko summoned comedian Vladimir Zelensky, who in the upcoming elections could confuse all the cards for the current president.
This was reported by Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The President took advantage of the fact that Zelensky planned the filming of the New Year’s “Quarter 95” in the “Ukraine” Palace, which is part of the structure of the State Administration of Affairs, subordinate to the President. Well, Pyotr Alekseevich could not miss the opportunity to ask everything himself first-hand... What kind of jokes will there be, is he going to make political statements. So Poroshenko had his finger on the pulse for a long time and knew that this could have concrete consequences for him,” Leshchenko said.
He believes that Zelensky’s participation in the elections could lead to Poroshenko leaving the race after the first round - most sociological firms claim that Yulia Tymoshenko and Zelensky are in first place in popularity in Ukraine today.
Leshchenko drew attention to the fact that the mayor of Kharkov, ex-“regional” Gennady Kernes, openly supported Poroshenko - this indicates that the president, who has lost popularity, is relying on administrative resources in the provinces, the deputy believes.
According to him, similarly, Poroshenko is counting on the help of the mayors of Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa.
