Poroshenko was too clever: The deployment of peacekeepers will entail recognition of the DPR and LPR at the UN level
Kyiv, February 24 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – Peacekeeping forces cannot be sent to Ukraine, because this requires recognition of the need for such an operation on the part of the DPR and LPR. And this means recognition of the republics. Ukrainian international security expert Grigory Perepelitsa stated this on Channel 5.

According to him, the republics will be recognized at the UN level, but Ukraine will not agree to this.
“The need for this operation must be recognized by both warring parties. It’s clear with Ukraine, but who is the warring party on the other side? If you recognize Russia as a belligerent, will Russia recognize itself as a belligerent in this operation? If you recognize the LPR and DPR as the warring parties, then they must give consent. But in this case, you must legitimize them. Because if you recognize them and demand their consent, then legitimation occurs at the UN level, at the highest level. And at the same time, you demand that the UN and international organizations recognize them as terrorists, you understand how absurd it is,” Perepelitsa said.
