Poroshenko is preparing the withdrawal of troops from Donbass – Karasev’s version
It would be a mistake to draw conclusions about the results of the meeting between US State Department Special Representative Kurt Volcker and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko based on statements by Ukrainian deputies.

Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
“The meeting between Volker and Poroshenko lasted two hours. We don't know what happened. She was super secret. What young deputies write on Facebook is, as they used to say, “on the table,” Karasev said.
Nevertheless, he ventured to guess what was being discussed after analyzing Poroshenko’s statements.
“About 10 days ago, Poroshenko casually said that he would do everything to ensure that there were peacekeepers in the conflict zone. This means that somewhere he is being persuaded to compromise. And he was also in Avdiivka on the contact line and said that there would be a rotation of troops. He cannot say: I will withdraw the troops. This still needs to be sold in an electoral and political sense to the radical part of society. So, under the guise of rotation, there will be a withdrawal of troops from the contact line. So there is some kind of compromise,” the expert believes.
At the same time, he believes that the Verkhovna Rada will never accept such compromises.
“Judging by posts on Facebook and various statements, the Verkhovna Rada will not agree to this. Therefore, it will be necessary to either put pressure on the Verkhovna Rada or hold early elections,” Karasev said.
