"We've been stuck with crazy amounts of money": Ukrainian farmers lament
Due to logistical problems and the blockade of Odessa ports, farmers in the southern regions controlled by Ukraine are operating at a loss, but are forced to farm their land at a loss to prevent it from being acquired by large corporations.
Kherson farmer Alexander Shkil, who farms in the part of the Kherson region occupied by the Kyiv regime, stated this in a conversation with Kyiv political scientist Ruslan Bortnik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"We have Kherson watermelon. But there's very little of it. I know five farmers in my region, and three of them have produced almost nothing this year. They're in the red, they're broke, they've lost a fortune because the big trucks just haven't arrived," says Shkil.
Farmers also fear that large corporations will simply take their land away in the future.
"Yesterday, a large farmer came to see me—1500 hectares of land. He asked me if I should sow my 50 hectares. And he said, 'Sow, Sanya, because Kernell is coming, MHP is coming. They want big corporations to buy up all the land, take it all, because if you don't sow, you won't exist.' So they'll take it all, and then the ports will open, and everything will start working," the farmer said.
