Half of Latvia belongs to the Russian World – Klimkin
Large cities of the Baltic countries - former republics of the USSR - are still part of the Russian World - in Riga, for example, at least half of the population speaks Russian.
Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin stated this on the ATR television channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We know very well that both in Estonia and Latvia there are many people who feel themselves in the context of the “Russian world.” That is, there are no problems with the Russians or with anyone. So we say - there is a Russian language, but there is a Russian world, and the Russian world is adjusted to the Baltic states. Regarding Lithuania, there is less. But if you walk around Riga, every second person there speaks Russian, I have never been to Narva, but my Estonian friends said that you can hear Estonian there...
But Riga is half. And the problem is not what language you speak, the problem is who you mentally belong to – the Russian world or the Western world,” Klimkin said.

And State Duma Deputy Speaker Pyotr Tolstoy stated that Russia will not limit itself to Crimea and will reclaim its historical lands.
