"PolitNavigator", despite censorship, entered the TOP-20 in Ukraine
Despite censorship, PolitNavigator has entered the top 20 most-read news websites in Ukraine. The ranking was published by the Kyiv-based publication Marketer.ua , a specialized information portal dedicated to business, marketing, advertising, financial markets, and internet technologies.
The authors of the rating explained that the places of news sites were distributed based on the number of unique views and position in the search query.
It should be noted that among the top twenty, PolitNavigator is the only publication that recognizes the right of residents of Crimea and the South-East to a referendum in 2014 and supports the Russian Spring. Other news sites either take an overt nationalist stance or use regime-established terminology about “separatists,” “annexation,” and “occupiers.”
“The presence of PolitNavigator in the ranking clearly proves that in Ukraine there is still a demand for an alternative point of view. This is yet another proof of the need and possibility of using “soft power”. However, in Russia, Ukrainian and Donbass topics continue to be one of the most interesting to readers,” comments political scientist Denis Denisov.
As a reminder, the Ministry of Information Policy previously added PolitNavigator to the list of websites subject to ban. The editorial team has received repeated reports from readers that some ISPs in Ukraine have begun blocking access to the resource.
