Columnist Alexander Dudchak stated this in a comment to PolitNavigator, commenting on the abolition of the so-called. “Kivalov-Kolesnichenko law”, which protected the rights of national minorities taking into account EU recommendations.

“It cannot be said that the previous law fully satisfied the interests of national minorities and the Russian-speaking majority of Ukraine. But even this “compromise” option did not suit the current government. Despite the protests of Hungarians, Romanians, Bulgarians, not to mention the Russians, they still achieve even the formal rights of those who want to preserve their national self-identification, which does not coincide 100% with the official one.
